Recently I had the privilege of representing TREE at the SparkLit awards night in Melbourne, Australia.

On the night, I was interviewed by Michael, the director of SparkLit, to share a little bit about TREE. I will share an expanded edition of what I shared on the night. You can read part 1 here and part 2 here.

If it is so difficult, why do you persevere?

The bottom line is that collectively, we’ve grown in our love and knowledge of God through reading quality theological books. We want to share these riches with Japanese people.

Like all Christians we strive and look forward to hearing our master say to us "well done good and faithful servant - come and share in your master's joy".

How can supporters help you?

Firstly, to be aware that there is a strong need for quality theological books to be accessible to Japanese speakers. We want to see Japan saturated with books that Christians can use to teach and preach the gospel, to themselves and to their neighbours.

Secondly, to pray for the process of selecting, translating, editing, publishing and distributing books. Each step has a myriad of challenges and can be exhausting and discouraging.

Lastly, we are very grateful for the financial support that SparkLit has offered for the publication of “How to Read Proverbs” by Tremper Longman. If any of what I have said has sparked an interest, please consider continuing to support us financially as well.

Wouldn't it be great if someone came up to you in heaven and said "thank you for being involved in publishing this book - it helped me see Jesus more clearly, love him more dearly, and follow him more nearly"?

Thank you.
