イエス・キリストを信じる人生、それは「イエスさま ありがとう！ イエスさま すごいね！」と賛美せずにはいられない人生！

TREEから、昨年末に新しい書籍が出ています。今回は、絵本！

「そのと　たれまくと　じゅうじか」です。原題は、「The Garden, the Curtain, and the Cross」。

私がこの絵本に初めて出会ったとき、まずこのタイトルを見て、「この内容を絵本で？！ なんと画期的！！」と心捕らわれたのを覚えています。

本文を読み、深い感動を覚えたのは言うまでもありません。この世界の創造、罪、そして神の壮大な贖いがなぜ必要であったかを、子どもたちにもわかりやすいやさしい言葉と、色鮮やかなイラストで描いています。まさに、この絵本は「神学」そのものです。子ども向けに書かれてありますが、大人の方にも心からおすすめします。聖書を初めて読む人、長年読んでいるけれど聖書全体がいまいちつかめないと感じる人、「救い」の意味、「十字架」の意味を、子どもたちにどう伝えるかを求めている人、などなど、広く読んでいただきたい一冊です。

私は、この絵本の一番最後のページが大好きです。私たちクリスチャンは、どのように生きる者でしょうか。それは、イエス・キリストが私たちの罪のためにーーかつてのように神とともに生きる喜びをもう一度得るためにーーいのちをささげ死なれたこと、そして死に打ち勝ってよみがえられたことに、「イエスさま ありがとう！ イエスさま すごいね！」と賛美せずにはいられない者だと思うのです。この絵本を読むと、私たちに与えられている「良いもの」は、すべて神が一方的に与えてくださったものであることがわかります。罪の中に生きる私たちを、神は愛し続け、神とまたともに生きる道を与えてくださいました。ひとり子をこの世にお与えになったほどに、神は私たちを愛されたのです。

私たちは、子どもたちが信仰を持つことを願い、望みます。その信仰生活が、「イエスさまありがとう！すごいね！」と喜び叫ぶものであってほしいと、心から祈り願います。

ぜひ、お手にとって読んでみてください。ご家庭で、教会で、大人も子どもも一緒に楽しんでいただきたい一冊です。

What does the life of a follower of Christ look like? ——It is a life where we cannot help but cry out every day, “Thank you Jesus! You're amazing!”

At the end of last year, TREE published a new book.This time, it’s a picture book.

Its (original) title is The Garden, the Curtain, and the Cross.

When I first encountered this picture book, the title alone immediately caught my heart. “A picture book that covers this content?!” I remember thinking, “what a brilliant and fresh approach!”

Needless to say, after reading the book, I was deeply moved. With gentle, child-friendly words and vibrant illustrations, it beautifully portrays the world God created, the reality of sin, and why God’s great work of redemption was necessary. This picture book is, quite simply, theology itself.

Although it is written for children, I wholeheartedly recommend it to adults as well. It is a great book for new Christians or seekers, for those who have read it for many years but feel they have not yet grasped the big picture, and for those who are seeking ways to teach children what “salvation” and “the cross” truly mean. It is a book I would love many people to read.

I think my favorite part of this picture book is the very last page.

What kind of people are we, as Christians? We are those who just cannot help but praise Jesus Christ for what he's done. He gave His perfectly righteous life for our sins, so that we might once again know the joy of living with God as we were meant to. He defeated death and rose again—and we respond by saying, “Thank you, Jesus! You are amazing!”

This picture book helps us realize that all the “good things” we have received are gifts that God has graciously given to us. When we are still in sin, God has continued to love us and has provided a way for us to live with Him again. God loved us so much that He gave His one and only Son.

We hope and pray that children will come to faith. And we pray from our hearts that their lives of faith will be filled with joyful praise—crying out, “Thank you, Jesus! You are amazing!”

Please do pick up a copy and read it. It is a book I would love to see enjoyed by both adults and children alike—at home, and in the church.
